Coastal Crust
In James Island’s Harbor View Shopping Center, a familiar vintage truck marks the third brick-and-mortar outpost of the popular pizza kitchen on wheels. Since the start of the year, families and foodies have been crowding the revamped La Tabella space, queueing up for tables and to-go orders alike. A new wood-fired pizza oven cranks out Neapolitan-style pies, such as the “Grandma” margherita version and the hearty “Boss” with braised beef, caramelized shallots, roasted asparagus, fig vincotto, and provolone. But there’s a full menu luring diners, from antipasti—try the Cannellini Crostini ($6), slathered with a garlicky white bean purée and topped with sundried tomato, peppery arugula, and a generous shaving of Parmigiano Reggiano—to dolci. And like its Coleman Boulevard cousin, the restaurant has an outdoor eat-and-play area that parents love. coastalcrust.com
