The blogger and her husband recently launched a new podcast called “Just Ignore It”
Though the writer behind the Hello Adams Family lifestyle blog grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, she frequently traveled to Charleston to visit her grandparents. Amid the pandemic in March 2021, she and her husband, Dave, decided to relocate with their three young boys to Mount Pleasant. Earlier this year, the couple launched a podcast called Just Ignore It to discuss marriage, parenting, and the lessons they’re learning along the way. Liz recently hosted an event at Vineyard Vines on King Street to launch the coastal brand’s holiday collection. Look for her to introduce a few collaborations with several favorite brands next year. Here, she shares what she’s wearing for this season’s festivities.
Q Tell us about your skin-care and makeup routine.
A I focus more on skin care these days. I exfoliate three to four times a week, followed by a serum and moisturizer. At night, I use a face oil from locally based Linné Botanicals (above). My makeup routine is pretty simple. Most days, I’m happy walking out the door with a little highlighter, eyebrow gel, and lip gloss.
Q Has your style changed since moving here?
A Charleston has allowed me to embrace color in my personal style. Living in Chicago, my style swayed a little more urban, but I am having fun showing off my more feminine side, such as with The Great’s “Rhythm” skirt in fuchsia, available at Monkee’s of Mount Pleasant.
Q How do you decorate your home for the holidays?
A I keep it pretty minimal with twinkle lights, garlands, and big, red velvet bows.
Q What are you planning to wear to holiday parties?
A Either a short dress [such as this Kate Spade embellished bow crepe shift], sparkly earrings, and heels, or I’m very much into tailored trousers and a silky top.
Q What are your favorite local stores to shop?
A Monkee’s of Mount Pleasant, Hampden, Goldbug, Bennie + Coco, and Beau & Ro, just to name a few. Not only does Beau & Ro carry their own beautiful collection, but [founder] Sara Rossi curates the best of the best brands from around the world, including these gorgeous earrings from Jennifer Behr (above) that feel a little vintage and glamorous!
Q What’s your go-to hostess gift?
A Hotel Lobby candles (above) make the perfect gift because their scents are beautiful and not overpowering—and their branding is perfection.
