Plus, find out the hair-care product she can’t live without

The owner of The Parlour hair and makeup salon launched her custom hat-making business, Legend of Geraldine, last year after she spent two weeks exploring Montana and Wyoming with her girlfriends and found that the Wild West resonated with her. Most recently, the milliner has traveled to London and Paris in search of unique accessories for her toppers. Look for this creative spirit’s head-turning designs this month at the Charleston Beer Festival. Here, the North Carolina native shares her artful take on timeless styles.

Q What’s your favorite way to style your hats for fall?
A
I love pairing a silk dress with a Western-style hat and layering it with an oversized cardigan and boots. Reformation’s “Stasia” silk dress (above) is perfect for this vibe, offering a rugged yet elegant

Q Who are other local makers that you love?
A
Andrea Jahde of Jahde Leather Atelier and Natalie Holst of Holst + Lee are amazing, creative, down-to-earth, and brilliant girlbosses. I use Holst + Lee’s charm bar to accessorize our hats; she has an amazing variety of fun options (above). Jahde’s Hampton wristlet is a simple design with beautiful color options and a pop of fringe. Who doesn’t love fringe?

Q Tell us about the hair-care product you can’t live without.
A
I am obsessed with Leaf & Flower. They infuse CBD into their products, and you can tell a difference after one shampoo (above)

Q Share what’s in your real or online shopping cart.
A
I have my eye on the “Annie” cowboy boot in “scarlet bovine” from Tecovas (above). I love a pop of color.

Q What’s your favorite outdoor activity, and what do you wear?
A
My favorite fall activity is listening to live music underneath the starlight by the fire. Depending on the weather, I am usually wearing repurposed designs. I love to pair loungewear with fun vintage fur coats for cozy, colder months. Buck Mason has amazing basics for loungewear (above).

Q Will you dress up for Halloween?
A
My last couple costumes were super fun and created out of repurposed designs. I have dressed up as a lion for Charleston Parks Conservancy’s zodiac-themed party (above), as well as a mad hatter and a dead outlaw for Halloween. This year, you will have to stay tuned, but Moulin Rouge inspirations were high on the list during my travels to Europe.
