‘Tis the Season
On December 4, stroll the Old Village’s scenic Pitt Street while checking off your shopping list at local retailers from 2 to 8 p.m. at this year’s Christmas market hosted by Out of Hand and Post House. Fuel up with bites from Post House and other local vendors and enjoy live music later in the evening. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on December 11, head over to Second Saturday on Simmons Street, hosted by Hermosa Jewelry and Brown Fox Coffee, to find local artisans, food trucks, and live entertainment. Take part in Lowcountry Local First’s series of “cash mobs” supporting independent stores in the tricounty area’s walkable commercial districts as part of the nonprofit’s 10th annual Shop Local season. Go on a holiday shopping spree on Main Street, Summerville from 1 to 4 p.m. on December 4 and Coleman Boulevard in Mount Pleasant on December 11. The “Buy Local, Feel Good Fests” conclude with a happy hour celebration, and shoppers who submit their receipts have the chance to win raffle prizes. All Hart
Local jeweler Hart Hagerty, known for her tassel earrings, charm necklaces, and beaded bracelets, has moved to a new studio and office on Upper King Street, next to The Daily.The space, designed by Kirby Caldwell, features a Murano glass chandelier and is open for custom charm jewelry appointments. Modern Touch
Athens, Georgia’s Metal + Petal interior design firm is expanding to Charleston, opening a studio in The Refinery. Founded in 2016 by husband-and-wife duo Graham and Jade Joyner, Metal + Petal is known for melding modern and traditional and Southern and European styles.
