Jamee Haley opened Neigborly home decor and gift shop in Park Circle in late November.
Won’t You Be My Neighbor?
Jamee Haley, who championed area businesses as the cofounder of Lowcountry Local First, has opened Neighborly, a gift and design shop, offering new and vintage furniture, household goods, and gifts, many from Charleston-based brands such as Smithey Ironware, Susan Gregory Pottery, Heart of Gold, and BR Design Co. Neighborly also will be home to Haley’s design firm, Hue Interiors. Bag designer J. Stark is relocating from Upper King Street to join Neighborly in the Park Circle space, which will boast ample free parking. Look for Haley to host pop-ups, workshops, and community events highlighting small businesses. “Neighborly feels like the culmination of what I have been working on and taking joy in for the past 16 years—supporting local businesses, travel, and design, and Park Circle is my neighborhood,” Haley says. Corner Stores
Local jeweler AL&EM has joined Sightsee coffee, Nette boutique, and Wake Refill at the corner of Rutledge and Cleveland streets, after relocating its by-appointment studio from The Refinery. AL&EM, founded by goldsmith Alex Klaes and designer Emily Hill, is known for its ”Love Line” collection of engagement and wedding rings, custom modern minimalist jewelry, and permanent bracelets. After five years on Line Street, Sightsee Coffee relocated to a bigger space across from Hampton Park, where owners Allyson Sutton and Joel Sadler have more room for their travel-inspired retail and community engagement events. Liz Connelly, a former buyer for Celadon, opened Nette, where she offers a curated selection of brands such as Agolde, Dôen, Frame, and The Garment. Wake Refill offers environmentally friendly cleaning supplies and refills. [37 Cleveland St., xoalem.com]
