Plus a boots pop-up at Marsh & Magnolia

Buru brings its "timeless-with-a-twist" women’s clothing, including the signature "Teagan” tiered skirt, to The Charleston Place.

In the Right Place
West Coast women’s clothing brand Buru has introduced its only permanent storefront at The Charleston Place. The brand, founded by Morgan Hutchinson in 2013, is known for its signature “Teagan” tiered skirt and its “timeless-with-a-twist” styles made in small batches from leftover deadstock fabrics and upcycled trims in a Los Angeles factory. The design of the Charleston boutique reflects Buru’s whimsical aesthetic with bold chartreuse draping, a wall painted with green and white cabana stripes, and pops of pink. The company also plans to open a temporary location in New York later this month. [205 Meeting St., shopburu.com]

Coastal Cowgirl
Try on a pair of Petite Paloma’s artfully designed cowboy boots and create your own custom-fit hat when the Texas-based luxury boot brand pops up at Hotel Bennett’s Marsh & Magnolia on September 14. The event runs 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; appointments are encouraged for hat fittings, but walk-ins are welcome to shop the boot collection, which features handcrafted leather styles adorned with flowers, bows, butterflies, and stars in soft colors. Three local friends—Adele Cisco, Erin Engebritson, and Kristin Smoak—debuted Marsh & Magnolia last fall, providing custom-shaping and -styling of straw and felt hats for women, men, and children. While you’re there, check out the neighboring hotel boutique, which opened in July and offers an assortment of designer and branded jewelry, accessories, gifts, and home decor. Bring on the KREWE
Shoppers can now find a Krewe sunglasses boutique inside Hampden Clothing on King Street. The New Orleans-based brand, which has 15 stores, is known for its colorful frames and eye-catching metal bridge pieces in styles for women and men, as well as its “Second Chances” program that provides a complimentary replacement pair if you break or damage your frames.
