Q Any home decor trends that readers should be looking out for?
A I believe we’ll see more pinks and greens this year, but more calming shades like terra-cotta pinks and deep, jewel-toned greens. The brain is looking for comfort with tranquil shades that radiate warmth.
Q Tell us about what you do for self-care.
A I was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer before Thanksgiving, and it became evident that I need to slow down. I’m happy to say I’m now cancer-free, but the lessons have stuck with me. My word for the year is ”decelerate.”
Q What’s your favorite room in your home?
A Our morning room is full of turquoise and greens, with patterns everywhere—one of my wallpaper patterns (above) is on the ceiling. Hubby and I have coffee in this room in the mornings, and the natural light fills the space with so much joy.
Q What item in your closet gets the most wear?
A The “Everyday Caftan” from the BURU x JUJU collection in black-and-white floral (above). It zips up the front and is so easy to dress up or down.
Q Do you have a signature accessory?
A My turbans! You can have on the most casual dress, and a sequin turban instantly makes it glamorous and party-ready. It also hides a multitude of hair sins, and I can throw it on and be ready in a snap! I’m eyeing one for spring from Mary Jane Claverol (above)
Q What items are in your virtual shopping cart that you’re planning to purchase soon?
A A beautiful caftan from La Vie Style House (above).
Q Who are your favorite local designers?
A This city is full of talented makers and artists. I love all things The Tiny Tassel; her earrings are adorable. I have several custom items from Taxidermy, and Amy, the owner, is a doll! Holst + Lee, Jahde Leather Atelier, and J. Melissa Designs are great for beautiful and unique jewelry. If you don’t own a Morph Clothing convertible dress (above) that can be worn 60 different ways, you are missing out.
