Down-home Seafood: Roadside Seafood
December 2014

There’s no rustic ambience or pretty seaside view, but you won’t care when you taste the fried- and grilled-to-order fish and shellfish baskets—from whiting, catfish, and flounder to shrimp, oysters, and more—Sean Mendes turns out at his Folly Road hole in the wall. Other menu standouts include the crab-cake bites, The Big Easy fried shrimp and green tomato hoagie, and Bam Bam shrimp tacos (bam for the sauce with peppery twang). A bonus? They just added beer and wine. 807 Folly Rd., James Island, (843) 754-5890, www.roadsideseafood.com
