Plus, a Candlefish collab with Spoleto Festival

Lisa Thomas’s Digs Charleston space will highlight a mix of furniture, decor items, and works from local artists.

New Digs
When she was younger, Lisa Thomas’s father took her to auctions to buy furniture and vintage jewelry. Those trips helped the owner of the Old Village’s eclectic Out of Hand boutique develop her eye for expertly matching old and new and other seemingly opposite elements. Now, Thomas is bringing that layered aesthetic to Digs Charleston in Park Circle, where she is showcasing a curated mix of furniture, antiques, art, tabletop decor, lighting, and vintage jewelry, as well as offering design services and custom pieces through DIGS Imports. In addition, Thomas plans to feature an artist each month and is highlighting designer and painter Holly Stiles in May. [1080 E. Montague Ave., digsimports.com, digscharleston.com]

Third Time’s A Charm
East Cooper residents, rejoice. Lilly Pulitzer opened its third store in the Charleston area at Mount Pleasant Town Center in April. Shoppers can find women’s, men’s, and girls’ clothing, as well as activewear, swimwear, and accessories from the vibrant, lifestyle resort-wear brand, which started more than 65 years ago as a juice stand in Palm Beach. The almost 2,000-square-foot store features design details such as shell fixtures and hand-painted fitting rooms. Lilly Pulitzer already has boutiques on King Street and in Freshfields Village in Kiawah. [1239 Belk Dr., lillypulitzer.com]

Spoleto Brings The Heat
A fish holding a candle in its tail fins while playing the saxophone graces the label of a candle collaboration between Candlefish and Spoleto Festival USA. The candle’s label was designed by SDCO Partners to blend the two brands. The Charleston-inspired scent combines notes of jasmine, gardenia, and magnolia. It’s part of Candlefish’s focus on supporting arts through a series that invites local artists to feature one of their works on a label and design a window mural for the King Street storefront. Last month, artist Lauren Ridenour’s candle and mural debuted and will be available through the summer. The special edition Spoleto candle is on sale at Candlefish’s store on King Street, as well as Spoleto’s website and store from May 12 to June 8. [270 King St., candlefish.com]
