Plus, menswear stalwart M. Dumas opens a second store in Mount Pleasant, and The Charleston Place welcomes four new high-end shops

Actress Olivia Wilde shows off La Ligne’s best-selling sweaters; the New York-based brand is one of four new stores coming to The Charleston Place this fall.

The Place to Be
Four new retailers are coming to The Charleston Place, which is undergoing a multimillion-dollar redesign under owner Beemok Hospitality. Local luxury accessories brand Norton & Hodges and preppy, pickleball outfitter Short Court are both debuting their first brick-and-mortar stores in the hotel’s Meeting Street corridor, while New York-based La Ligne is opening its doors onto King Street. The clothing brand, which has six locations, celebrates stripes and other wardrobe staples, offering its best-selling striped ”Marina” sweaters and ”Breton” T-shirts, as well as dresses and denim, in addition to collections for men and children. Over the Moon, an e-commerce brand specializing in weddings founded by Vogue.com editor Alexandra Macon, is popping up for the holidays, offering gift items such as Bauble Stockings, hand-painted ornaments, and pajamas. The retailers join Los Angeles-based women’s brand Buru, which opened in late August, alongside 15 existing shops such as Louis Vuitton, St. John, Peserico, Ike Behar, Chico’s, Johnnie-O, and Tommy Bahama. Suit Up
Mount Pleasant men no longer have to drive downtown to find custom suits and tailored button-downs. King Street menswear stalwart M. Dumas, which was founded in 1917, is expanding with a second location in Mount Pleasant Towne Centre. The 4,000-square-foot store will feature popular brands such as Barbour, Faherty, Duck Head, and Johnnie-O, as well as the attentive customer service M. Dumas is known for. Southern Tide by M. Dumas has been in the Mount Pleasant lifestyle center since August 2020, selling the casual Greenville-based brand. [1242 Belk Dr., Suite 100, mdumasandsons.com]
