Hermosa jewelry boutique downtown specializes in custom-fit bracelets welded instead of clasped.

Now Open
Local designer Haley Holzworth has opened a second location of her Hermosa jewelry boutique on Spring Street in the Cannonborough-Elliotborough neighborhood in the former Taxidermy space. (Taxidermy exotic leather handbags is relocating to 84 Spring Street.) In addition to Holzworth’s collection of handcrafted, Lowcountry-inspired necklaces, earrings, and bracelets, the new store will offer permanent jewelry appointments. The jewelry trend features dainty, custom-fit bracelets welded instead of clasped onto the wrists of mothers and daughters, partners, or girlfriends to show their lasting bond. Holzworth founded Hermosa in 2002 after she reconstructed a collection of vintage jewelry she inherited and opened her flagship Mount Pleasant store in 2017. [62 Spring St., hermosajewelry.com]

New Directions
The Miller Gallery is opening a new headquarters on upper Meeting Street this fall, where it will focus on online art sales and “curated, artful” experiences. Founder Sarah Miller Gelber plans to expand the gallery’s roster of artists, increase the number of releases throughout the year, and host artist luncheons and receptions in the “Art Garden” behind the new space. In addition, she expects to exhibit works at art fairs in cities such as Dallas, New York, and Boston, where many of her collectors live. The headquarters will be open for client consultations and to the general public by appointment. [785 Meeting St. Unit A, themillergallery.com]
