Plus Saks Fifth Avenue makes a return to Charleston

Personal Touch
After shuttering its petite King Street store in 2010, Saks Fifth Avenue is returning to downtown Charleston, bringing its personal shopping and styling service, Fifth Avenue Club, to a suite at The Dewberry. Hotel guests and local shoppers can make appointments for an in-person or online consultation, which is followed by a styling session where clients can try on a curated selection of clothing, jewelry, shoes, and accessories. Other Fifth Avenue Club locations are housed within the luxury department stores. Look for the Fifth Avenue Club to host trunk shows and jewelry showcases. [334 Meeting St., saksfifthavenue.com]

From The Hills to the Lowcountry
Uncommon James, a jewelry-focused lifestyle store owned by reality television star Kristin Cavallari, is expected to open this month in the former Mellow Mushroom on King Street. Shoppers can find classic necklaces designed for layering, “Girl Boss” hoop earrings, chain bracelets, and rings in vermeil, silver, and gold. In addition to jewelry, the brand offers candles, sunglasses, home decor, and a skin-care line called Uncommon Beauty. The two-story, 5,057-square-foot space is the fourth and largest location for Uncommon James, which the former cast member of The Hills launched from her Nashville home in 2017. Second Home
North Carolina-based Alexander Scott Home has expanded to open its second location in Mount Pleasant, alongside Nordstrom Rack and J.Crew Factory in the Bowman Place shopping center. Expect to find modern Southern furniture, lighting, art work, signature candles, handmade jewelry, seasonal decor, and gifts. Full interior design services are available. The company, co-owned by David Newcombe and Russel Griffith, was established in Charlotte in 2011. [1336 Old Georgetown Rd. Ste. 105, Bowman Place, alexanderscotthome.com]
