The Music to Your Mouth festival pairs Southern food with creative fêtes at Palmetto Bluff

“At what other event can you eat Rodney Scott’s barbecue, listen to awesome musicians, and shop at a pop-up Billy Reid store before hearing an amazing presentation on heritage pigs and their farmers?” queries Jeremiah Langhorne, McCrady’s chef de cuisine. Just named one of Gayot’s top five rising chefs in the United States, Langhorne asks a good question. To enjoy that kind of culinary hoedown, you’d need to go to the Music to Your Mouth festival.

Now in its sixth year, the festival is a foodie must. For 2012, the fête is shaking things up with a slew of new events November 13 through 18 at Palmetto Bluff. For instance, a Foraging Cruise to Daufuskie invites guests to join Gullah chef Sallie Ann Robinson aboard a yacht as she discusses the inspirations she drew from the island. Other can’t-miss happenings include a wine blending class led by Domaine Serene Vineyards and a Heart of Dixie cooking class from Hot and Hot Fish Club chef Chris Hastings and author John T. Edge, plus feasts accompanied by musicians such as The Bushels, Zach Deputy, and Earl Williams.

Room at this smorgasbord is filling up fast. Visit www.musictoyourmouth.com for details on all the fun.
