Wanderlust

Charlotte-based House of Nomad has established an outpost of its globally influenced home decor shop on King Street, near the intersection of Market. Shoppers can find pillows, blankets, baskets, mirrors, rugs, framed textiles, planters, lighting fixtures, and furniture sourced from artisans in Mexico, Indonesia, Turkey, Africa, and beyond. Beginning next year, owners Kelley Lentini and Berkeley Minkhorst plan to offer full interior design services for residential and commercial properties. The business partners launched their firm in 2017 in Charlotte and opened their first storefront there two years later. [214 King St., shophouseofnomad.com]

Holiday Shopping

Make a list and check it twice before heading to Freshfields Village on November 21 and December 19 for Sidewalk Saturdays, where shoppers can enjoy the fresh air and practice social distancing. A variety of local and national retailers will offer special promotions, feature new merchandise, and present gifts with purchase to help busy customers find the perfect presents for friends and family or treat themselves. Fuel up for the day with a caffeine fix or relax post-spree with a happy hour beverage at one of the center’s many eateries. Visit Freshfields’s website to see a list of participating stores. Guests are asked to follow safety protocols, wear masks, and adhere to distancing guidelines. [165 Village Green Ln., John‘s Island; freshfieldsvillage.com]

Chain Reaction

Tired of looking for your face mask before you go out? Mount Pleasant-based Hermosa Jewelry and Michael and Ian Stettner-Palacios of the blog I Love That For You have teamed up to create a collection of stylish mask chains, the season‘s essential accessory. The collection, inspired by the bloggers‘ Texas roots, features five designs. “We have both forgotten our masks in the car too many times to count, but when searching for a men’s mask chain, we were left empty-handed every time,” says Michael. The chains are equally attractive hanging around the neck without a mask and also can be used to hold glasses or worn as a wrap bracelet. Hermosa Jewelry offers its own line of mask chains as well.
