Buffie Lilly is on a mission to get locals hitched—and she has a unique way of playing cupid. In 2011, she launched Charleston Wine Pairings with the idea that clients could mix and match during wine tastings for small groups of six or eight. ”I let people connect naturally,” she says.

Today, she’s sent eight couples down the aisle, with 16 in relationships. Potential clients start with a free in-person interview, after which Lilly analyzes her database of 500-plus people, mostly ages 30 to 55, for good prospects. Then you can choose a one-on-one date or a group tasting. The cost for a set-up varies depending on your preferences. And after all, who can put a price on true love?
