Wildcraft promises sustainable self-care with its clean and package-free products

Inspired by the herbal shops and beauty stores she’d visited on a trip to California, local Holly Thorpe founded Wildcraft, a low-waste beauty boutique, in 2015. Thorpe, who previously worked as an art director at the College of Charleston, took the plunge when a storefront opened in West Ashley’s South Windermere Center. “Anything you need to take care of yourself or your home, we’ve got it in a really clean, nontoxic way,” she says. “We won’t carry a product unless we personally love it and trust how the producer is sourcing materials.”

Customers can stock up on personal care and household supplies at the bulk refill bar, or peruse botanically based skin care from local companies LINNÉ and Maya Chia, as well as nontoxic makeup, vegan Sienna nail polish, and Unwrapped Life shampoo bars.

Wildcraft also carries eco-friendly home goods like organic soap and biodegradable laundry pods. “Wherever you are in your sustainability journey, we want to be a judgment-free resource,” says Thorpe.

In April, Wildcraft expanded to include a Wellness Corner for creating teas, tonics, and other nonalcoholic drinks in-house, such as the immunity-boosting Immortality Mocktail, made with mushrooms and elderberries.
