One of the most satisfying and impactful charity events around, Walk for Water is organized by the locally based nonprofit Water Missions International, which has been designing and implementing clean water systems in underdeveloped countries since 2001, helping more than four million people worldwide. Walking this three-mile route with a bucket of water in hand symbolizes the journey women and children make daily in areas Water Mission helps. At the end of the route, watch your own bucket get filtered into clean drinking water. All ages are welcome. Riverfront Park, 1061 Everglades Ave., North Charleston. Saturday, 9am. $20; $15 student; $5 ages six-15; free for children under 6. (843)769-7395, www.watermission.org
