The Palmetto 200 is an overnight relay that covers 200 miles of South Carolina, beginning in Columbia and ending in Mount Pleasant. Runners participate in teams of four to 12, splitting 36 legs of the race among them. Each team is equipped with support vans to drop off and pick up members at designated points along the course. The first batch of runners begin in Columbia in the early morning, and the rest of the teams depart systematically on the road to the Lowcountry’s finish line. This scenic adventure also passes noteworthy sights along the way, including Santee State Park, Lonestar BBQ, Fort Moultrie, and more.Race starts at Red Bank Arena,1159 Nazareth Rd., Lexington.
