As a part of The Charleston Festival, contemporary artists Shepard Fairey and Tim Hussey—who both grew up in the Lowcountry—and Atlanta-based sculptor Masud Olufani are collaborating on a site-specific exhibition at the Aiken-Rhett House Museum that explores social awareness. Visitors can see the exhibit during the festival with admission to the circa-1820 home. During the opening weekend Charleston By Design event, hear Design in Mind speakers, including Ellie Cullman, cofounder of design firm Cullman & Kravis; architects Ben Pentreath and Peter Pennoyer; and designers Tim Whealon and Martyn Lawrence Bullard. New this year, take a guided tour of the American College of the Building Arts. Proceeds support the Historic Charleston Foundation. Times, locations, & prices vary.
