Assemblage artist Robin Howard works with a myriad of materials––reclaimed wood, textiles, metal, found objects, and vintage collectibles––to build childlike and imaginative sculptures. Her latest series, “The Wanderers,” consists of salvaged elements from Charleston homes dating back to the 1700s. The human-sized sculptures take on lives of their own from the debris of yesteryear, imbuing their surroundings with an uncanny sense of time and place. Explore Howard’s totemic assemblages and check out Miller Gallery’s collection of other playful contemporary art. Miller Gallery, 149 ½ East Bay St. Monday-Saturday, 10am-6pm; Sunday, 11am-5pm. Free.
