Illuminating Events: On December 2, a new trio of Christmas trees will be lit in Marion Square, helping to jump-start the Illumination Charleston weekend (illuminationcharleston.com). Also look for even more lights and holiday baskets from Line Street to Broad, lighted palmettoes at the Four Corners of Law, and giveaways linked to new “JOY” signs placed at Marion Square, The Cistern Yard, the Visitor Center, and South Carolina Aquarium.
Light the Lake: On December 3, Charleston Parks Conservancy will illuminate the Colonial Lake Christmas tree, as well as 1,000-plus luminarias on Friday evening, kicking off a weekend of festivities, including scavenger hunts, a mailbox for sending letters to Santa, and more.
