The Party: The Charleston Marriott’s Crystal Ballroom was decked out in feathers and pearls for the Lowcountry Orphan Relief’s annual gala to benefit at-risk children in the community. To match this year’s Moulin Rouge theme, guests dressed to the nines in their flapper-esque best while mingling over rosé champagne. With a silent auction and live entertainment from slight-of-hand magicians and dancers, the event was one not to be missed. Rounding out the night were impassioned speeches from founder Lynn Young and development director Gayle Keller, as well as a testimony from a foster parent supported by the organization.
Highlight: The jazzy, Burlesque-style performance by students of Mount Pleasant’s Elite Dance Studio
Overheard: “Champagne tastes better pink!”
