The Party: More than 700 guests flocked to the Charleston Convention Center to indulge in the 30-plus dishes—one from each of the participating restaurants—which included bites such as truffled duck dumplings from Husk, muffaletta sliders from Slightly North of Broad, jerk marinated tuna from Acme Lowcountry Kitchen, and hummingbird cheesecake from Obstinate Daughter. DJ Natty Heavy provided the backing track to the evening, and Tom Crawford led the live auction—which featured prizes such as dinner for eight at Charleston Grill, a tour of Boeing, a girls’ getaway weekend to Charlotte, and more. More than $450,000 was raised for Lowcountry Food Bank’s childhood hunger programs, which help students without access to healthy meals after school as well as during weekends and summers.
Highlight: All 30 chefs took the stage so guests could thank them for their generosity.
