The Party: An afternoon deluge couldn’t keep the crowds from descending on Firefly Distillery for the 14th-annual Chef’s Potluck. More than a dozen participating chefs paired with farmers, fisherman, and ranchers to each present two tasting dishes made with as many local ingredients as possible. Vocal powerhouse Kanika Moore of Motown Throwdown serenaded partygoers as they moved between tables, sampled Firefly cocktails, and browsed silent auction items, including golf and fishing excursions, vacation packages, and locally crafted jewelry. Proceeds benefited Lowcountry Local First, a nonprofit dedicated to cultivating an equitable and connected local economy.
