The Party: Brunch-goers flocked to the Hotel Bennett for the annual fundraiser for the Avian Conservation Center. Guests enjoyed dishes such as mini quiches and shrimp and grits as they listened to live jazz music. Auctioneer and emcee, Erin Kienzle of Lowcountry Live, announced items up for bid such as jewelry from Croghan’s Jewel Box and outings from Coastal Expeditions. Avian-related items included giclée prints from wildlife artist Matthew Constantine. Proceeds raised totaled more than $150,000 and will go toward the center’s care for injured birds of prey.
