The Party:
The Dewberry ballroom was transformed into the world of Where the Wild Things Are during an exclusive gala hosted by the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry. Dewberry head chef Michael Simiack’s nostalgic menu offered mini tomato pies, tater tot balls, banana pudding, and “Rumpus Punch,” a refreshing combination of cucumber-infused tequila, agave, lime juice, and mineral water. In “Max’s bedroom,” guests bid on silent auction items by selecting toys, such as plastic s’mores to represent a glamping weekend in Asheville. The party extended outside in the walled garden where guests were transported to the “island of the monsters, surrounded by lush ferns and trees. Proceeds from the evening totaled more than $100,000, benefiting the museum’s programs aimed at creating equitable learning opportunities for all families.
