Unique Transportation rolls out inexpensive custom cycles and eco-driven vehicles.

Going green often means giving up some green, but for downtown denizens, shifting into eco-drive has gotten a little more accessible thanks to Unique Transportation, a new addition to the hip Cannonborough corridor. Founded less than a year ago by recent College of Charleston graduate Danny Russell-Einhorn, co-owner Griff Ducworth, and web/merchandise manager Sean Meyers, this crafty company has made a name for itself among college students, the environmentally conscious, and those without much budge in their budget. Parent to Electric
Revolution and Affordabike, Unique Transportation offers both electric—in the form of motorized skateboards and scooters—and man-powered gear in-store and online. Here, buyers begin with a basic beach bicycle priced at $110, and then customize their cruiser with a variety of inexpensive upgrades: fenders, baskets, seats, painted personality, and more. Blending customization and affordability, the pedal power has raised the handlebar on innovative and individual transportation options here in town.
