EMANCIPATION PROCLAMATION PARADE

Celebrated on New Year’s Day since 1866, this parade commemorates the abolition of slavery in the US. The route starts at Burke High School and ends at the International African American Museum, which will offer complimentary admission throughout the day. Proceeds benefit the Albert W.
