CHARLESTON HALF MARATHON

The Charleston Half Marathon’s scenic route takes racers through historic downtown streets, serenaded by local bands along the way. Racers start at Burke High School and pass by iconic Lowcountry landmarks such as Rainbow Row and the Battery before finishing at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park. Proceeds benefit Engaging Creative Minds, a nonprofit that brings hands-on arts instruction to classrooms to help students develop a love for learning.  Burke High School, 244 Fishburne St. Saturday, 7am. $105-$50. www.capstoneraces.com
