The Party: Revelers in elaborate hats, colorful bow ties, and other fancy attire gathered for a lavish Kentucky Derby party in The Cedar Room at The Cigar Factory. Attendees enjoyed posing in front of a “Run for the Roses” photo wall, listening to bluegrass tunes by The Sweetgrass Revival, and dining on catering provided by Mercantile & Mash. The revelry paused while guests watched racehorse Mage take the win in the 149th Kentucky Derby, followed by raffle announcements and a live auction, with prizes including luxury spa packages, a Sea Islands golf getaway, international trips, and an array of rare Kentucky Bourbons. Proceeds benefited Charleston Area Therapeutic Riding, an organization dedicated to empowering children and adults with disabilities to enjoy active lives through therapeutic horsemanship, and its student scholarship program.
