The Party: Partygoers enjoyed a memorable evening in the Gibbes Museum of Art’s Lenhardt Garden and Almeda Lecture Hall during this annual soirée. Dressed in artful black-tie attire, guests mingled under a dazzling, star-filled tent and gathered for photo ops in the museum’s Alfred Heber Hutty Studio. An array of appetizers were provided by Harvest Catering, with signature drinks from Squeeze Cocktails, featuring Cathead Vodka and Blade & Bow Bourbon. Proceeds from the event and art auction help sustain the 1858 Prize for Contemporary Southern Art, which awards $10,000 to an artist whose work contributes significantly to art in the South. This year’s winner was Raheleh Filsoofi, an Iranian-born, multidisciplinary artist based in Tennessee. Named for the year the Gibbes began its art collection, Society 1858 provides social and educational programs tailored for up-and-coming art patrons.
