As part of its 75th anniversary celebration, Historic Charleston Foundation is hosting an oyster roast at Mosquito Beach, a recreation destination for African Americans during Jim Crow segregation. The foundation is managing efforts to rebuild the 1962 Pine Tree Hotel, which had fallen into disrepair before it was destroyed by a fire earlier this year. At this oyster roast fundraiser, guests can enjoy bivalves, as well as chili, fried chicken, mac and cheese, and collards; listen to live music from Green Levels; and shop at a craft market. Mosquito Beach Rd., James Island. Sunday, 2-5 p.m. $60 for adults, $40 for children five and older. (843) 723-1623, www.historiccharleston.org
