The Party: At the end of the yellow brick road was an Emerald City-themed affair at The Dewberry. The hotel also catered the Wizard of Oz-themed event, and head chef Michael Simiack prepared dishes including phyllo-wrapped Anjou pear crostini to pair with the signature green-hued cocktail, crafted by master mixologist Ryan Casey. Aerialist Rachel Strickland spun in the air as guests participated in games as well as live and silent auctions. This gala for the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry raised $95,000 for its early education access fund, which provides low-income children and families affordable ways to experience the museum’s programming.
