The Party: The Make-A-Wish South Carolina’s Wishes in Bloom event celebrated the people who help make wishes come true from children with cancer—quite literally. The event, held at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, kicked off with hors d’oeuvres catered by Home Team BBQ, Circa 1886, and other local restaurants. An ice sculpture filled with local shrimp and a photo booth greeted guests as they entered the party, a sure sign of a fun evening ahead, and live music accompanied a silent auction that raised additional funds for Make-A-Wish. The evening continued with dinner in an open-air tent, along with a welcome toast from plantation manager and host John Drayton Hastie Jr., speakers from South Carolina Make-A-Wish, and Mike Ciprari. Ciprari, owner of SJC Custom Drums, helped make Wish kid Jose’s lifelong dream of owning a drum set come true. Surrounded by the scenic marsh vista and the splendor of Magnolia Plantation, the evening was a warmhearted affair in support of a worthy cause.
