The Party: This year’s fundraiser, Gibbes on the Street: Food is Art, welcomed 600 hungry attendees and 30 participating chefs for a night of cuisine, champagne, and dancing. Although impending rain brought this party off the street and underneath an expansive tent in the Gibbes’ courtyard, everybody was dressed to impress as they dined on dishes, inspired by works in the museum’s collection, from the likes of Oak Steakhouse, Cannon Green, Obstinate Daughter, and many more. While the band Minimum Wage had people grooving on the dance floor, other guests broke away from the party to explore the museum after hours.
The Highlight: the seared lamb chops over pearled barley tabbouleh toast with a chimichurri aioli from Halls Chophouse and SNOB chef, Matthew Niessner
Overheard: “I'll take six more, please!” —a guest munching on the mini tacos from Circa 1886
