LOWCOUNTRY OYSTER FESTIVAL

Held at Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens each year, the Lowcountry Oyster Festival has been hailed as one of the top annual events by the Southeastern Tourism Society. Watch oyster-shucking and -eating contests, groove to live music, and sample food and beverages from local restaurants. Since being founded by the Charleston Restaurant Foundation four decades ago, the festival has raised $1.5 million for local charities, including the Coastal Conservation Association, Ronald McDonald House, and Hollings Cancer Center.
