Kacey Musgraves takes on the male-dominated genre of country music with a pop sensibility, a combination not often taken seriously. But Musgraves is a force to be reckoned with. Her 2018 album Golden Hour melded honey-like softness with strong, self-aware lyrics, breezing to the top of Billboard charts and “best of” lists by the likes of NPR and Pitchfork.
