Style File Q&A: Stylist Kensey Rabun shares the pieces she’s eyeing for her spring wardrobe
March 2026

This month, look for her collaborations with jewelry brand Southern Marc Designs and women’s clothing line Duffield Lane

Kensey Rabun

The stylist developed her own feel for fashion with encouragement from her grandmother, who worked as a buyer in New York, and her mother, who often took her shopping at vintage stores. So it’s no wonder that when the Texas native went to college, her friends asked to shop her closet and for help curating their looks. In 2024, Rabun launched Kensey Adair styling services, and she recently began working as a buyer for King Street boutique Beau & Ro. This month, look for her first collaboration and a pop-up with jewelry brand Southern Marc Designs, as well as a collab with women’s clothing line Duffield Lane. Here, the stylist shares the pieces she’s eyeing for spring.

Q: Tell us about your collaboration with Southern Marc Designs.

A: I’m launching a jewelry collaboration rooted in a sense of history and memory. One necklace (left) is inspired by a piece from Asia I received as a child while my father was traveling for work. Many of my favorite accessories—like silk scarves—date back to those early experiences. In many ways, my style is shaped by the objects I gathered when I was younger, each one holding a story worth wearing.

Q: What are your favorite local stores to shop?

A: I help buy for Beau & Ro, and I can’t wait for everyone to see the new lines Sara Rossi, the owner, and I are bringing to Charleston this spring. Supporting local is really important to me, and I try to do that whenever I can. I’m so grateful to have Over the Moon in The Charleston Place; their curation of unique pieces, such as this Casa Bombón ikat tote bag, is such a gift.

Q: Do you have a signature accessory?

A: I’m always on the hunt for vintage and estate jewelry, such as these earrings found at Croghan’s Jewel Box. There’s something inherently special about pieces with a past; they carry a sense of character and individuality that nothing brand-new ever quite matches. Some of my most treasured pieces are deeply personal. I have a pair of opal and diamond earrings I discovered tucked inside an old hat box that belonged to my grandmother. I also wear two pocket watches that were owned by my maternal and paternal grandfathers—now set on gold chains—so I feel as though I’m carrying a piece of them with me wherever I go.

Q: What’s in your shopping cart that you hope to purchase soon?

A: I’m drawn to pieces with depth—a raffia top, a beautifully woven something, anything that adds interest and dimension to an outfit, such as this Sea NY “Adelina” lace top, which can be worn alone or layered.

Q: Is there an event you’re looking forward to this spring, and what will you wear?

A: I’m cochairing Picnic for the Parks on April 26. It’s always fun to see how people interpret a birthday party for the parks. I get inspired by how I’m feeling in the moment, a piece of art, or something I notice walking around the city. This Beau & Ro “Abby” skirt (right) would be a fun place to start.
