Popping Up

A popular local jewelry brand known for its palmetto bug earrings is moving from its petite Spring Street store to a pop-up location in the former Croghan’s Jewel Box space. Sisters Mariana “Mini” Hay Avant and Kathleen Hay Hagood, the fourth generation of the family behind Croghan’s, introduced the whimsical-meets-classic Goldbug Collection costume jewelry line in 2014. Get selected pieces engraved in the store, and look for Goldbug Collection to permanently move into the narrow side of the 308 King Street space later this year. In June, Croghan’s, which has boasted a presence on King Street since 1907, relocated to a 6,000-square-foot, two-story building at 155 King Street. [308 King St., www.goldbugcollection.com]

On the Move

After more than 10 years at the corner of King and Market streets, colorful children’s clothing boutique Pink Chicken has moved to a larger location across the street. Look for the New York-based brand, known for its vintage-inspired prints for babies, tots, and their mothers, to hold more community events and seasonal activities in its new 723-square-foot space. Local designer Hart Hagarty’s jewelry line is popping up with The Trove by Hart in Pink Chicken’s former location, which is part of The Shops at The Charleston Place, through February. Shoppers can find a curated selection of Hart’s popular charm and gemstone necklaces at the extension of the flagship store on Upper King Street. If you’re traveling, look for Hart’s new boutiques in Nashville and New York. [202 King St., pinkchicken.com; 225 King St. www.shophart.com]

Good Scents

Neke Choice has opened the first brick-and-mortar location for her Nivori home fragrance brand in Summerville. Choice started crafting candles in 2020 and rebranded to Nivori last year, expanding her business to offer perfumes and room and body sprays. The 1,600-square-foot space includes a warehouse facility for production, packaging, and fulfillment, as well as a retail store and an event space for hosting candle-making workshops. Look for seasonal scents such as “Hoodie Season” and ”Winter Rain,” as well as Lowcountry-inspired fragrances such as ”Beach Blanket” and ”Ocean Front.” [1907 Varner St., Suite B4, Summerville, www.nivoriofficial.com]
