Of all the live/work/play communities along the Carolina coast, the vision for Daniel Island may have been the most grandiose. If you’re a resident with a club membership, the island’s pools and amenities are top notch. But fortunately for everyone, the restaurant and event scene continues to grow and flourish. June 23: For the Charleston Battery Kickoff to Summer Party, the Lowcountry’s USL soccer team plays the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, followed by fireworks. MUSC Health Stadium, 1990 Daniel Island Dr. Saturday, 7 p.m.

July 1: Rock out during the Wheels of Soul tour at Volvo Car Stadium, featuring Tedeschi Trucks Band, Drive-By Truckers, and the Marcus King Band. 161 Seven Farms Dr. Sunday, 6 p.m.

July 14: During the Charleston Battery World Cup Weekend, watch the team take on USL Champions Louisville City FC, as well as the World Cup final and fireworks. MUSC Health Stadium, 1990 Daniel Island Dr. Saturday, 7 p.m.

July 20: Revisit the ’80s as Boy George & Culture Club and the B-52s play Volvo Car Stadium. 161 Seven Farms Dr. Friday, 7 p.m.
