Charleston Half-Marathon

The Charleston Marathon is changing its course to become a 13.1-mile race. The scenic half-marathon begins at Fishburne Street in front of Burke High School and travels through Hampton Park, The Citadel campus, the Battery, and King Street before the finish line and post-race party at Firefly Distillery. Runners can also choose to participate in the Shrimp & Grits 5K or one-mile youth run. Proceeds benefit Engaging Creative Minds, which uses the funds to offer grants to local teachers. Burke High School, 244 President St. Saturday, 7:30 a.m. $115-$55. www.capstoneraces.com
