This exhibition at the Gibbes Museum of Art celebrates winners and finalists of what has become one of the South’s most prestigious art prizes since its inaugural award in 2008. Society 1858 recognizes artists whose work contributes to a new understanding of art in the South, including Leon Twiggs, Deborah Luster, and and Sonya Clark.
