Bruce Munro at Brookgreen: Southern Light

Brookgreen Gardens will be aglow when Brtish artist Bruce Munro brings his dazzling large-scale light sculptures to the Murrells Inlet botanical and sculpture gardens. Munro’s exhibit features seven works designed specifically for the natural garden rooms where they will be installed, including his signature “Field of Light,” where he’ll cover the arboretum with 11,700 stems of colorful lights. Other displays will bring 600 “fireflies” to the oak allée, 1,448 bee-inspired shapes to the bell tower, and 2,000 singing “frogs” to the garden wall at the Brenda S. Rosen Carolina Terrace. “Southern Light”—which is intended to foster a shared human experience and connection—is the only opportunity to see Munro’s work in the Southeast this year. Brookgreen Gardens, 1931 Brookgreen Dr., Murrells Inlet. Wednesdays-Saturdays, 6-10 p.m. Ticket prices vary. (843) 235-6000, www.brookgreen.org
