“An Editor’s Eye on Southern Style”

Join style editor Tori Mellott—who has worked for publications such as Domino and Traditional Home and is now the style director at Frederic—as she shares the design inspiration for the homes in her first book, Southern Interiors: A Celebration of Personal Style during a talk at Charleston Library Society. The hardcover features several Lowcountry interiors, including the homes of designers Matthew Monroe Bees, Angie Hranowsky, Amelia Handegan, and antiques dealer John Pope. Several of the homeowners, including Chelsea Handegan and Pope, will take part in the discussion. In her intro, Mellott writes, “As a design editor who has spent the last 25 years traipsing through hundreds of houses decorated by the very best designers in the world, I have to tell you, it’s always been the Southern ones that really set my heart on fire. They capture an ineffable quality that’s hard to define but impossible to ignore.” Charleston Library Society, 164 King St. Tuesday, 6-7 p.m. $15-$10.
