50 Years of Folly 

The city of Folly Beach is celebrating its golden anniversary with a nine-day celebration, beginning with a black-tie gala at the ballroom of the Tides Hotel on September 22. The festivities continue on September 23 with a classic car show along Center Street, where each block will represent the styles, food, and music of a different decade. Charleston County Parks hosts a throwback shag and disco night on the pier on September 28, followed by nostalgic carnival rides near Ashley and Arctic streets on September 29, and a street party finale on Center Street with craft vendors and three stages of live music on September 30.
