“Kaminer’s modern and sleek sense of style invited the use of geometric shapes,” says Kristin Newman. Dulles Designs created printed materials with modern circle and square silhouettes.

Kaminer’s ivory dress by Jenny Packham from White harkened back to goddess gowns of the 1930s.

Guests were greeted at First (Scots) Presbyterian Church by a stunning gateway of lilies, the first hint at the coming night’s  Art Deco look.

Kaminer and Matt were married at 7pm, which dictated formal coats and tails for the men in the wedding party. Leigh Magar of Magar Hatworks reworked an heirloom into a headpiece for Kaminer as a tribute to the bride’s maternal grandmother.

Guests sipped champagne adorned with Vanda orchid blooms during the cocktail hour.

After dinner, the crowd headed to the dance tent. “Heather incorporated soaring panels of charcoal gray fabric to create a dramatic ceiling canopy in the lounge and dancing tents,” Kristin says. A large, modern drum shade hung from the center. “Along the sides we created social areas with black glass chandeliers, gray sofas, mirrored tables, and black velvet chairs,” Heather adds. “Pillows in soft blues and oranges rounded out the color scheme.”

“We used potted orchids throughout the reception for a more sustainable approach to our florals,” says Kaminer, who gave the blooms to her guests after the event.

The newlyweds danced the night away to the sounds of the Melvin Sparks Band before honeymooning in Greece.

The couple chose to have three cakes, because Kaminer knew she’d use the stands at parties for years to come. Jim Smeal of Wedding Cakes by Jim Smeal fashioned the trio of sweets iced in pale blue buttercream and accented with white detail to mimic the look of the silver stands.
