For this Thanksgiving arrangement, place the largest plant (Out of the Garden’s Naomi Wallace used a ‘Petra Croton’ in a nine-inch pot) in the center of the container.
Add smaller plants (such as ‘Aloma Ivy’, ‘Purple Waffle’, and ‘Mamey Croton’ in five-inch pots). Wallace wedged hers in at an angle so that they’re at the right height and spill nicely over the edge of the planter.
Tuck dried Spanish moss—or a craft-store moss of your choice—around the tops of the plants. You can also consider adding accessories like turkey feathers or pine cones.
Place the finished arrangement at the center of a round table, scattering mini mini gourds and squash around it. Pillar candles add elegance; if you’re going for a less-formal look, votives will be spot-on.
