The Party: Culinary fans from near and far gathered in Marion Square to kick off this year’s Charleston Wine + Food. Thirty-five chefs and their teams did not disappoint, cooking up Lowcountry-inspired dishes including everything from she-crab soup to pork belly and grits. Several South Carolina Chef Ambassadors joined the restaurants in preparing the flavorful fare. As guests feasted on the offerings and sipped the signature rum cocktail, the rockabilly stylings of JD McPherson and the band got the party started.
Highlight: Banana pudding ice cream tacos created by Circa 1886 executive pastry chef Scott Lovorn
