Longtime collector Terry Fox fills his Stono River condo with eclectic works by favorite artists and friends

The stairwell serves as Fox’s prime gallery, showcasing artwork by Aggie Zed, Jeff Crespi, Kevin Taylor, Dorothy Netherland, Konomi Ryosuke, and Michael Johnson. Presiding over all is a large abstract triptych by Elyse Defoor.
For the upstairs hall, local craftsman and friend Michael James Moran designed a walnut console that he dubbed the “Turning to Heart” cabinet. Atop rests an African sculpture, an Aggie Zed wire horse, a ceramic vase by Daniel McSweeney, and a pocket flask etched by Kevin Taylor.
The upstairs library is dominated by David Boatwright’s Cuban Gator Gal which reminds the collector of a vintage sideshow poster from the 1950s.
The sign advertising Fox’s father’s barber shop hangs above a whimsical oil painting by Nathan Durfee.
This ceramic sculpture by Jo Jeffers is a favorite of Fox’s, accompanied by a cylindrical cloisonné canister he found in a local antiques shop.
The mantel is centered by Aggie Zed’s Novoodoo Just Upide flanked by bronze fish candlesticks Fox found in Paris. To the right of the fireplace hangs a ceramic sculpture by Nina Liu.
