CM_JLynn_2012_08_4937._opt_0.jpegBefore & After: Katie and Rick Link’s original weekend house was a petite, one-story cottage; (right) the new house came a decade later, complete with an updated exterior and roomier living spaces.Welcome, Friends: The breezy back porch is wrapped in blonde shake siding and outfitted for the Links’ many informal gatherings with vintage rattan furniture and a farm table.Room With a View: Just off the sunny breakfast room (above) is an open kitchen, which is anchored by an expansive walnut island and zinc pendants from South of Market.Katie (at left) and interior designer Luann McCantsIn Sync: The floors on the back porch were stained the same color as the interior wood to maintain continuity between indoors and out.Leisure Suite: A painted pergola and a checker-board of travertine pavers edge the swimming pool.A timber and iron daybed hangs in the cool ground-floor patio.Grass Roots: The dock stretches some 400 feet into the quiet Stono River marsh.
